In less than 2 ½ years, Kasaero has accompanied Junkers Flugzeugwerke to type certification.
After the successful maiden flight of the A50 Junior shortly before Christmas 2021, many certification and development flights followed in 2022, which finally brought the A50 Junior its type certificate.
Bringing an almost 100-year-old aircraft design into the modern age required not only modern systems and up-to-date manufacturing processes, but also the fulfilment of increased safety standards. Nearly 100 flight hours were used to improve flight behaviour and performance and to meet all certification requirements with marginal impact to the original design. All technical challenges were successfully met as a team with Junkers.
Kasaero is proud to have guided Junkers Flugzeugwerke during construction and development and to have played a major role in certification. The fact that the sports aircraft was able to achieve type certification on such a sporting schedule is due to the highly efficient and close cooperation between Junkers, Kasaero and the DULV. Kasaero was thus able to successfully demonstrate its experience from other certification projects for the first time on an ultralight aircraft.
